On Sunday morning 24th May, the Llandovery Pylon group are delighted to be organising a fundraising Tractor & 4X4 Run. Please come along and join the event, bringing your ‘No Pylons’ themed vehicle to help raise much needed funds for the ongoing campaign.
Together, we need to show your continued commitment against the proposed wind farms and pylons. By coming together as residents, landowners and local businesses we will display the strength and unity of our community against the Green Gen proposals.
As a group, we rely heavily on the generosity of local donors and are incredibly grateful for support from a number of individuals, organisations and businesses. To date, confirmed prizes and donations towards this event include Judy’s Ice Cream Parlour, Morris Isaacs, G T & E Feeds and Y Caban. West End Café are providing a hot meal following the run. Such events could not be planned without such support and generosity — thank you.
On the morning of 24th May, a planned route will include areas more recently impacted by the latest proposed pylon route. The run will depart from the Tonn at 9.30am, with a refreshment break before joining the celebrations of Carnival Day, leading us all to the Rugby Club.
Please book your place on the run, including passengers, to secure your hot meal by Monday 11th May. You can book your place at Judy’s Ice Cream Parlour (Market Square, Llandovery), at Y Caban (Abermarlais lay-by, Llangadog), or by emailing llandoverypsg@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you! Tractors — new, vintage and 4X4 vehicles, all decorated to highlight our campaign message: NO PYLONS.
The Senedd continues to push for the industrialisation of rural Wales at the expense of the land, people and communities. As a group we are pro renewable energy but not at all costs. Please continue to contact your council and politicians voicing your concerns, and you can find the latest information and property devaluation calculator on our website.
We very much hope you can join us. We will NOT be defeated — the fight goes on.
We have set up a dedicated donations page to make it easier for supporters to contribute to the campaign. Tywi Pylons Ltd is a not-for-profit group — no-one involved is paid for their time, but there are unavoidable costs in fighting the pylon proposals that need to be covered.
Donations will go towards legal representation, professional advice from heritage and landscape consultants, publicity materials, and the running costs of the campaign. We have published a full pledge on how every penny will be used and accounted for.
You can donate by bank transfer or by posting a cheque. Full details are on our Donate page.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported us. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps protect the Towy Valley.
Welcome to the new No Pylons campaign website. This site has been created to provide the communities of the Towy Valley with the information and tools they need to fight the proposed 359 steel pylons.
Explore our 3D Pylon Visualiser to see every proposed pylon plotted on the map, or use the Property Depreciation Calculator to understand how the pylons could affect your property value.
We will be posting regular updates here as the campaign progresses. To get involved, visit our Take Action page.
